Partnership with the John Muir Trust
The John Muir Trust is a membership based wildland and conservation charity dedicated to the protection and experience of wild places. One of the ways it undertakes this work is through partnership with a number of community land-owning organisations both on the mainland and throughout the islands. In the case of the North Harris Trust, this partnership spans back to before 2003 when the community took ownership of the land.
The John Muir Trust have contributed enormously to the development, management and conservation of our natural heritage in North Harris over the past two decades. Our latest memorandum of understanding signed in 2019, describes the mutual support found between the Trusts as we work together in community-led conservation management.
