9th September: Six Sea Eagles!

Posted on:

On Monday a group of six White Tailed (Sea) Eagles were seen around the crags above Loch na Cleabhaig, out between Hushinish and Cravadale. There were a pair of adults (identifiable by the distinctive white tail feathers), and the others were juveniles.

White Tailed Eagles are far more sociable than Golden Eagles, and so will group together much more readily, but this was still a pretty special sight!

A pair of juvenile Sea Eagles (patchy white markings, without the distinctive white tail feathers) seen circling above Scaladale yesterday evening. One had something that looked like a fish hanging from its beak!
