Beach cleaning again
The end of June saw the first of two visits to North Harris from the John Muir Workparty. This group of volunteers once again cleared rubbish and cut down Gunnera for us. Their reward? an barbecue at Ardhasaig . Marine Harvest were good enough to help with the clear-up again, shifting bags of waste from the remote coves to the landing stage at Ardhasaig for council collection. Discovering, Exploring, Conserving and Sharing in Harris
Now, whilst the Hebrides look like a Winter Wonderland, here’s a 6 minute video made during the spring of 2010 to remind us what it’s like when spring does eventually arrive!
The video shows what some of the Sir E Scott pupils were doing this year as part of the John Muir Award scheme. The John Muir and North Harris Trusts have worked together with the scheme to help engage children from North Harris with their landscape and their culture.
