North Harris’ spectacular landscape is best appreciated from the top of one of the rugged mountain ridges that rise between the glens. A decent standard of fitness, walking boots, waterproofs, warm clothes and lunch essential.

Eilean Glas lighthouse is one of the best places in Scotland to observe a wide range of whale and dolphin species from the shore. These amazing animals are abundant during the summer and as long as the sea state isn’t too rough, sightings are very likely. This is an easy walk to the lighthouse on mostly well surfaced paths. The walk also offers good opportunities to observe sea eagles, otters and seals.
