The Isle of Harris lies at the heart of the Outer Hebrides, some distance from the Northwest coast of the Scottish mainland. The North Harris Estate covers the northern half of the island with a resident population of approximately 700 people. Connections to the mainland are via direct sailings to the Isle of Skye and via sailings to Ullapool and flights to Inverness/ Glasgow and Edinburgh from Stornoway on the neighbouring Isle of Lewis.
