The North Harris Landscape is spectacularly beautiful.
It is the most mountainous region in the Western Isles and includes
the famous Sron Ulladail overhang and the highest hill Clisham (2622ft)
- both a great attraction to visitors whom we wish to welcome.
Internationally recognised for its wildlife, the rugged upland and oceanic
habitats provide a haven for several rare species including the spectacular
golden eagle.
Much of the natural heritage is dependent on active management of land
and its present quality is testament to the relationship that has existed
between the land and the crofters who work it.
By taking responsibility for the land we have become masters of our
own destiny, creating a vibrant, modern community that prizes its Gaelic
language, way of life and rich cultural and natural heritage.
